Thankful to be a Mom

With Thanksgiving approaching I have been counting my blessings. I am thankful for so many things my family, a job, health but I think this year I am most thankful to be a mom. Being a mom has enriched my life in a way I could have never imagined. People are right when they say this is the hardest job in the world. It really is but at the same time nothing that is truly valuable is ever easy. I must admit I rarely get to sleep late as my two are up by 7 even on the weekend. Meals are a three ring circus. I haven't been to the movies in 2 years. I do not have time to read books. I have changed thousands of dirty diapers, been puked on,and wiped many snotty noses in the last 3 1/2 years but I have also received thousands of hugs, kisses, and smiles. It is the love for your children that keeps you going day after day. I thank God every day for my two.
I hope you will also take time this Thanksgiving to count your many blessings.

March of Dimes

I thought I would post this link to March of Dimes. Premature babies are near and dear to my heart as Logan was born at 37 weeks and Laney at 36 weeks. Logan was fine and able to go directly to the room with me but Laney had to spend 4 days in the NICU. It is so scary to see your baby in an oxygen hood struggling to breathe. You question what you could have done differently in your pregnancy. I have decided I was not meant to carry full term. I hope you will check out this petition. March of Dimes is a great resource for parents of premature babies. Also check out my friend Crystal's blog. She had her son at 31 weeks and has posted her story.

Too Early to Potty Train?

I am looking for some advice on a hot topic among us moms to toddlers. I know this is my second child so I should be an expert but as they say every child is different. With Logan it was a great struggle to get him interested in pottying. He was happy to wear pull ups forever. Finally, at 3 he was potty trained. Laney is more vocal than Logan was at this age. The other night she brought me her diaper and a box of wipes. I asked, "Did you poo poo?" She said very matter of factly "yes". I thought she is only 22 months old but could she be ready for the potty. I have bought pull ups and we are trying.

Do you think I am wasting my time or could she really be ready? This would be amazing if I could say bye bye to diapers forever. I would be rich.

Ordained

Last night was a special night at church for our family. Chad was ordained as a deacon. I was really nervous about the service last night and became more so when we found out the children were supposed to sit on the front pew with us. If anyone knows my children, sitting still during a service for an hour would take nothing short of a miracle. I am proud to say they did really well. Logan asked if the deacons were trying to wake Daddy up while they were praying for him. He also thought the voice over the microphone was Jesus so we had a little comedy in the mix. Overall, it was a very emotional service especially when Chad gave his testimony. I have posted a couple of pictures below.

I voted..

I voted Pictures, Images and Photos

I just voted at lunch today. It makes you feel good to exercise your rights as a citizen of the United States. So many people in our past fought for this right, the least we can do is take advantage and let our voice be heard. Okay enough of my soap box but I would like to encourage everyone to vote.

I will be up late tonight watching the results.

Also, today is my dad's birthday. Happy Birthday Dad!!!
